As we launch in to 2025, I want to share one of the most impactful tools I've discovered in my journey of studying disciple-making movements worldwide: the 30-Day Prayer Calendar. This simple yet profound practice has sparked multiple generations of discipleship, and I'm excited to share it with you today.

The Birth of a Prayer Movement

My introduction to this tool came through an unexpected source – a young man named Dan whom I'd only met a few times on Zoom during a training course. He began messaging me monthly, asking how he could pray for me. Each time, he'd follow up with a heartfelt voice note prayer. After noticing his consistent timing, I asked him how he was remembering so faithfully. "Have you heard of the 30 day prayer calendar?" he asked? He then trained me in this tool.

How It Works

The beauty of this tool lies in its simplicity. Here's how to create your own:

1. Create two lists: - 15 believers you want to see become disciple-makers - 15 non-believers you're praying to come to Christ (family, friends, colleagues, etc.)

2. Take a 30-day calendar and alternate between the two lists: - Odd days: Non-believers - Even days: Believers - If you have fewer than 15 names for either list, it's perfectly fine to repeat names. Here's a template you can use.

3. Daily Practice:

For Believers & Non-believers who would be ok with it: - Send a simple message: "Is there anything I can be praying for you today?" - Pray for their request (you can even send a voice note prayer or a short message)

For Non-believers who would be less comfortable with being asked for a prayer request: - Send a friendly check-in: "Hey, I'm thinking about you today. How are things going?" - Pray for them privately

What started with Dan reaching out to me has now multiplied across continents. I've witnessed this tool being adopted by entire churches in many different nations, creating multiple generations of intentional prayer warriors and disciple-makers.
